Story
Hi there!
I'm putting the icing on the cake for my 40th Birthday by fundraising for a cause that's close to my heart. I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Nearly one in 7 Australians - that's 3.6 million people - has arthritis. Arthritis Australia is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation and the peak arthritis consumer body in Australia.
There is a widely held belief that arthritis is simply a consequence of age, the pain of growing old. But it is not a natural part of ageing. In fact half the people suffering from the disease are of working age. I was diagnosed at the age of 29 with Psoriatic Arthritis and it has been a journey of learning, trialling different medications and pain management remedies. It was particularly scary for me as a pianist when I noticed the arthritis presenting in my finger joints. Thankfully the treatment plan my Rheumatologist has me on is helping tremendously.
How will the funds be used?
To fund research into the treatment, prevention and cure of arthritis
To provide support and information to people with arthritis as well as their family and friends
To advocate on behalf of health consumers to leaders in business, industry and government
To help raise awareness in the community
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to Arthritis Australia.
Thanks so much for your support!
